A Raisin in the Sun by Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deffered?
Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore-and then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat
Or crust over like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load
Or does it explode?
This Bridge by Shel Silverstein
This Bridge will only take u half way there.
To those mysterious lands you long to see:
Through gypsy camps and swirling Arab fairs
And moonlit woods where unicorns run free.
So come and walk awile with me
and share the twisting trails and wonderous worlds I've known.
But this bridge will only take you halfway there-
The last few steps you'll have to take alone.
Who are you? Are you me? If you are then I can't be.
If I am you and you are me then who are they and who is he?
Are they we and is he she?
I think so, why can't it be stright from our own reality?
(by my friend, David St. Charles)
Arrows by Shel Silverstein
I shot an arrow toward the sky
It hit a clould floating by.
The cloud fell dying to the shore.
I don't shoot arrows anymore.
Motto by Langston Huges
I do the best I can I ain't no quitter Temptations come my way I just pray.
I'm down with some people They strive like I do And in the end I will be successful too.
Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstien
There is a place where the sidewalk ends And before the street begins, And there the grass grows soft and white, And there the sun burns crimson bright And there the moon-bird rests from his flight To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black And the dark street winds and bends Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow, And watch where the chalk-white arrows go To the place where the side walk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured slow, And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go For the children, they mark, and the children, they know The place where the sidewalk ends.
The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

"I want to be simple. I want to trust without thinking. I want to be generous with my affection and patience, and love unconditionally. It is easier to love a person with their faults than to weed through them. I want to love the whole person, not parts, and that is how i want to be loved." ~Jewel
